Luke 1:45 (KJV) “And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.”
The scriptures revealed, that the blessedness of believers is a past tense reality. We are not about to be blessed, or going to be blessed; we are blessed. God has already blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ.
However, many believers live their lives with no proof of the blessings of God. Consequently, they question the veracity of the promises of God. Why are we not seeing the blessings or the promises of God manifesting in our lives?
There could be many reasons, why the manifestation of the blessing of God is lacking in a believer’s life. But the most common reason is unbelief, because without faith no one can receive anything from God. The problem is not with God, or His promises, the problem is with our believing. Elizabeth said to Mary, “And blessed is she that believed. For there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.”
The Blessed and Her Believing
Our believing is tied, to the performance of God’s promises or the manifestation of God’s blessings. God is a wonderful God, and He generous with His gifts. He did not only give us the blessing, and He also gave us a measure of faith, to receive the blessing. God gave every believer a measure of faith at the point of salvation.
We have faith as a gift from God, and we also have faith as a fruit of the Spirit. We have the blessing, and we have the faith, but we need to exercise our faith, to receive the blessing. So, the problem is not that we have the blessing, but we don’t have the faith to receive it.
We have the blessing, and we have the faith. But the issue is that we are not exercising our faith, to receive our blessing. We allow many things to occupy our hearts, except the very thing that can enhance our believing. The word of God is vital to the quality of believing, because faith comes from hearing the word of God.
Our believing thrives on the power of the word. When the word of God becomes the focus and the meditation of our heart, our faith is energized to receive. It is your turn to see and experience the performance of God’s promises. Keep the word of God in your heart, thinking, meditating, and confessing it to yourself, until you see the performance.
Father, I receive the performance of Your promises in my life this month, in the name of Jesus Christ.
